4 dead, multiple injured after minivan drives into Deer Park nail salon

|

Four people were killed and multiple others injured after a minivan somehow plowed into a nail salon Friday afternoon in Deer Park, Suffolk Police said.

The van drove fully through Hawaii Nail & Spa on Grand Boulevard near Tanger Outlets, coming to a stop at the rear wall around 4:32 p.m.

The driver, who has not been identified, appeared to be semiconscious and was taken to a local hospital, according to multiple news reports. One of the injured people was also airlifted from the scene.

Major Case Unit detectives are investigating the crash, Suffolk Police said.

No details have been reported as to what caused it.

The popular nail salon shares a strip mall with other stores and is fronted by a large parking lot. It’s not directly along a roadway.
