The owner of the popular Sayville art studio Mini Monet has announced she is selling her business.
Pam Brewer also alerted customers that she will keep the studio open until it is sold. Classes and events for this summer will carry on as scheduled, she said.
“To all of my wonderful customers at Mini Monet. I have some news. After almost 8 years of owning the studio, I have decided to sell,” she says in an Instagram post. “If you feel this same passion that I have felt for almost 8 years and are interested in buying the studio, please send an email to [email protected] My hope is that the new owner take the foundation that I have built and expand it even more.”
The former Bayport-Blue Point schools arts teacher purchased Mini Monet in 2017 and helped it grow to its location at 122 and 128 Main St., where she added the open studio concept. The studio offers a variety of art classes, workshops and events for children, teens and adults.
Students at the studio are encouraged to express themselves freely through visual art, as they use a variety of mediums and techniques to develop fine art work.
In her Instagram post, she explains that her son, the younger of her two children, has recently graduated from college and moved to Los Angeles and that it is “time for me to grow my wings and move down south.”
“This has not been an easy decision, as this business was like having another child,” she wrote. “I have loved watching it grow from infancy to where it is today … It has made my heart so happy to see people enjoy making creative memories with children, friends and family.
“I know there will be someone out there who will nurture my studio as I have done,”she continued. “In the meantime, I have my events/classes/camps all ready for the summer! I am here until I have sold the studio so no fear of me closing.”
