Copiague man wins $1 million on lottery scratch-off game

Scratch. Win. Collect.

As easy as that, Stepian Krzysztof of Copiague became a millionaire playing New York Lottery’s Millionaire scratch-off game.

To be clear, the millionaire status was temporary. He had to pay taxes before collecting his lump some payment of $651,000 on Thursday, lottery officials said.

Krzysztof’s winning ticket was purchased at Smokewerx (formerly Flame Worx), located at 500 Oak St. in Copiague. 

New York Lottery reported that nine top prizes remaining on the Millionaire Maker ticket. Players can check the status of any New York Lottery scratch-off game by downloading the Game Report at nylottery.ny.gov.
