Long Island’s “Tell It to My Heart” star Taylor Dayne will perform and speak from the heart at Pink Aid’s 11th annual fundraising gala on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at The Paramount in Huntington.
The star-studded “Pink Rocks Broadway” event, coinciding with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, aims to raise over $1 million for Pink Aid’s programs supporting underserved breast cancer patients.
Dayne, 62, known for her Billboard Top 100 hits like “Tell It to My Heart” and “Love Will Lead You Back,” will take the stage to perform, as well as serve as the event’s featured speaker, sharing her personal insights on breast cancer prevention and early detection. The Baldwin High School graduate’s advocacy is deeply personal, stemming from her own experience with colon cancer.

The event will feature a professional designer fashion show by Mitchells of Huntington, alongside a “Celebration of Life” runway show. Local breast cancer survivors, accompanied by family and friends, will walk the catwalk.
All ticket levels for the event are sold out, but you can put your name on a waiting list to possibly score tickets that become available in the days leading up to the event.

Officials with Pink Aid, a national organization that delivers rapid emergency financial assistance to underserved breast cancer patients, said proceeds from the event will go to support the organization’s mission of offering both financial and emotional support to patients during their treatment journey.
The gala kicks off with a VIP cocktail party at 6 p.m. Highlights also include a performance by BFA students from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, the fashion shows, and a special appearance by Broadway’s Rock of Ages Band.
Dayne is of course the headline act. The Long Island legend burst onto the pop music scene in 1987 with “Tell It to My Heart,” then later recorded such mega hits as “Prove Your Love” and “With Every Beat of My Heart.”
On the Greatest of All Time Dance Club Artists list put out by Billboard in 2016, Dayne is No. 28.
