Long Island welcomed its third Ben & Jerry’s store this past weekend in Patchogue.
The new ice cream shop, located at 17 E. Main St., has taken over the space previously occupied by Smallcakes Cupcakery and Creamery, which closed in April after seven years in the village.
(For those missing Smallcakes, the chain still operates locations in Commack and Syosset.)
This Ben & Jerry’s, nestled between Locale Gastro Bar and Pizzette and Del Fuego, was opened by Jericho couple Abhishek and Nisha Sachdeva.
The store will be open year-round, with hours from noon to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and noon to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, according to the location’s website.
The Sachdevas, who also own Taj Crown of India in East Setauket, plan to open another Ben & Jerry’s location at the Station Yards development at Ronkonkoma’s train station. (Check back later for more details.)
“For our shops, we wanted to be in a place with restaurants, bars, and a great atmosphere and vibe,” Abhishek previously told GLI.
The couple is optimistic about their new venture, noting that Ben & Jerry’s is a billion-dollar brand with broad appeal across generations.
Currently, the only other Ben & Jerry’s locations on Long Island are in Westhampton Beach and Huntington.
