The Boutique settles into its new location in Babylon Village

|

The Boutique of Babylon Village has officially moved into its new location on 41 East Main Street.

Last Thursday, loyal Boutique shoppers browsed the new additions to the clothing retailer, admired the décor, sipped some bubbly, and enjoyed the live music in celebration of the business’s reopening party.

Theresa Ribarich, the owner of The Boutique, opened her store four years ago on 22 Fire Island Avenue in hopes of bringing an eclectic style to Babylon Village. The store is known for its vintage apparel, jewelry, and handbags, all hand-picked by Ribarich herself.

The original location previously only carried women’s wear, but now the store added its own menswear section. Ribarich said she is excited about this new chapter of her store.

“I feel so privileged,” she said. “I love our new space and I’m very much looking forward to the Boutique’s future.”

The store is inside of the old “Daily” building, also home to their neighbor, Hitch Handmade Market — who opened shop in August. The building will be adding a kitchenware business called Babylon Mercantile & Cookshop. The stores are connected by French doors so shoppers can roam from one store to the next.

Patrons will also able to access the communal, outdoor patio the three businesses will share in the upcoming summer months.

Ribarich, a Babylon native and FIT graduate, said she always dreamed of opening her own store where she can share her love for fashion and styling others. When researching the best place for the Boutique to call home, she looked everywhere from Patchogue to Brooklyn but saw the potential and sense of community in Babylon.

“Nowhere compared to that feeling I got from Babylon,” Ribarich said.

Joe DeBello, owner of Hitch, said the union of the three businesses will serve as a great marketing strategy and benefit each business individually. An Instagram profile for the Daily building is in the works so people can stay updated on what events the businesses will be hosting.

“It’s totally a movement that works in such a positive way,” he said. “I can’t wait for the future.”

DeBello said the building’s calendar of events includes “Connecting With Crystals” on March 13, “Drag Queen Bingo” on March 14, and “90s Drag Queen Bingo” on April 4. The first event in April will also be a charity event for Cadence McGoldrick, who suffers from a rare genetic disorder called FoxG1.

The Babylon Mercantile & Cookshop is scheduled to join Hitch and The Boutique in the “Daily” building sometime this spring. Continue to follow GreaterBabylon for more on this store.

“I’m looking forward to collaborating with my friends of Hitch and the cookshop,” Ribarich said. “We all share the common goals of making our customers happy and seeing each other succeed.”
