What’s fast becoming the tri-state area’s go-to restaurant discount card, Foodie Card, and Greater Long Island Media Group are launching a first-ever Restaurant Takeout Week that starts Sunday, April 19.
Takeout Week runs through Saturday night, April 25, during which time participating restaurants will offer discounted family-style meal packages. The week is extra special because these deals are open to all Long Islanders, not just the Foodie Card holders (scroll down to learn more).

“We are excited to sponsor an initiative that will bring additional revenue to restaurants during this crisis and hope our local community will come out to support their favorite hometown haunts,” said Foodie Card CEO Jared Katz.
Greater Long Island Media’s Michael White said co-sponsoring Foodie Card’s takeout week was a no-brainer.
Several dozen Long Island restaurants have supported — and helped build — the go-to community news resource for people across Long Island, White noted. “Greater Long Island is all about trying to help our supporters who have helped us,” he said.
“And Foodie Card was founded by Long Islanders with the goal of driving foot traffic to local restaurants, while also helping those in our communities who are hungry or food insecure,” White added. “We couldn’t agree more with that mission, and we’re also here to do anything to help it along.”
Foodie Card’s core goals during this challenging time remain unchanged, according to the company. They have even doubled their donation to Island Harvest for this upcoming quarter.
Foodie Card donated $3,000 to Island Harvest last month.

HOW FOODIE CARD WORKS:
The concept is simple, members pay $29.99 to join and participating restaurants agree to offer 10 percent off to members when they dine at the restaurant. For every Foodie Card purchased, the company donates a day of meals to a local food bank. The company launched in Nassau County and has already donated 20,000+ meals to Island Harvest.
