Patchogue’s third Alive After Five postponed, rescheduled for August

|

A stormy weather forecast has forced the postponement of Patchogue Village’s Alive After Five event scheduled for Thursday.

The popular downtown street festival — which had been set to kick off at 5 p.m. — is being pushed back to Thursday, Aug. 21, organizers announced in a social media post Wednesday afternoon.

“The only thing that can stop the party is the rain! Unfortunately, we’ve got to postpone tomorrow’s festivities,” organizers wrote on Wednesday. “We’ll have our regularly scheduled Alive After Five on August 14th, and tomorrow’s planned lineup will be back on August 21st for the rain date.

“That just means the party lasts a little bit longer this summer!” organizers added.

The National Weather Service predicts thunderstorms are expected in the Patchogue area after 3 p.m. Thursday, with a 70 percent chance of rain and possible localized flooding.

Alive After Five has already drawn big crowds this summer.
