Aldi continues to grow its footprint across Long Island.
The German-based discount grocer is opening its latest location in Bethpage this Thursday, Aug. 7 — and Greater Long Island got an exclusive first look inside.
The new store, located in the former A.C. Moore building at 3988 Hempstead Turnpike, will officially open to the public at 9 a.m. Regular hours will be daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
At the grand opening, the first 100 customers will receive a gift card. There will also be additional giveaways and surprises throughout the day.
“At our new Bethpage ALDI store, shoppers will find that every decision we make, from our product selection to store layout, is to provide our customers with the best products at the lowest possible prices of any national grocer,” said Chris Daniels, regional vice president for ALDI. “Our customers can save up to 36% on an average household’s shopping list. As shoppers look for better ways to stretch their dollar, ALDI is providing Bethpage with easier access to quality groceries at affordable prices.”
Aldi has been rapidly expanding across Long Island. In June, the company opened a new store in Medford. Another location is also on the way in Lake Ronkonkoma, where the grocer is taking over the former King Kullen site at 153 Ronkonkoma Avenue.
Aldi first entered the Long Island market in 2011 with a store in Bay Shore. Since then, it has opened locations in Lindenhurst, Patchogue, Selden, Lake Grove, Riverhead, Rocky Point, Bohemia, Valley Stream, Carle Place, North Babylon, Shirley, Hempstead, Central Islip, East Northport — and now, Bethpage.
