A stunning TikTok video shows the moment a car went airborne across Sunrise Highway in Bay Shore on Wednesday.

The Dash Cam footage, posted by user @roni1865, captures a Honda flying over several highway lanes before nose-diving into the eastbound guardrail.

Miraculously, the driver sustained only minor injuries.

Police said a 70-year-old Brentwood man was behind the wheel of a 2012 Honda when the crash happened at about 5:05 p.m.

According to investigators, the man was driving southbound on Richland Boulevard (later determined to be Pine Acres Boulevard) when he went straight through the intersection with the Sunrise Highway Service Road, struck a guardrail, went airborne, then cleared both the westbound and eastbound lanes of Sunrise Highway.

The car ultimately crashed over the guardrail on the eastbound side. The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was taken to South Shore University Hospital with minor injuries. No other vehicles were involved.

The crash backed up eastbound and westbound traffic for miles during the height of the afternoon rush hour.

“All the police and emergency personnel were walking up to the trees [on the south side of the highway] in Brightwaters,” said one witness who got caught up in the traffic for about a half hour. “I figured someone flipped over the guardrail.”
