The lights will be back on Tuesday night at Jones Beach State Park, as the Magic of Lights drive-through show is set to reopen following a power outage that forced the popular holiday attraction to shut down Monday night.
PSEG Long Island said the outage occurred about 2:50 p.m. Monday and was caused by damage to an underground electrical fault, News 12 Long Island reported.
Power to Jones Beach was restored by 8 p.m.
Organizers confirmed the show’s return in a post on the Magic of Lights Facebook page, writing: “The lights will be BRIGHT and YES, Magic of Lights is OPEN tonight.”
The Magic of Lights show — a 2.5-mile holiday lights spectacle — runs through Jan. 3 at Jones Beach State Park. The drive-through attraction features dozens of illuminated displays, including what organizers describe as the longest lights tunnel on Long Island.
It operates Sunday through Thursday from dusk until 10 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from dusk to 11 p.m.
