Ben & Jerry’s opens new scoop shop at Station Yards in Ronkonkoma

Ben & Jerry’s has opened its newest scoop shop at Station Yards in Ronkonkoma, bringing the iconic ice cream brand to the growing downtown district, according to an announcement.

The shop is located at 3 Hawkins Ave., Unit 1104, just steps from the Ronkonkoma LIRR station and the Station Yards Village Green. The announcement said the location adds a nationally recognized brand to the development’s expanding mix of retail and dining.

The Ronkonkoma shop is owned and operated by a local family and offers popular flavors.

The new location is designed as a gathering spot for residents, commuters, and visitors, according to the announcement.

“Station Yards immediately felt like the right home for our Ben & Jerry’s,” said owner Nisha Sachdeva. “We love being part of downtown communities, and Station Yards has such an incredible energy with its mix of residents, events, and local businesses.”

While Ben & Jerry’s is a global brand, it has strong Long Island ties. Founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield grew up in Merrick before launching the company in Vermont, where the brand remains headquartered, according to the announcement.

TRITEC Real Estate Company, the developer of Station Yards, said the opening reflects the project’s goal of creating a walkable, community-centered downtown hub in Ronkonkoma.

“Ben & Jerry’s is one of those brands that instantly brings people together,” said Jimmy Coughlan, executive vice president and partner at TRITEC. “We’re excited to welcome them to Station Yards and to see their shop become a place where families, residents, and visitors can create simple, joyful moments.”
