The Bay Shore Farmers Market is heading back to the downtown this spring.
Following community feedback, the market will return to the Bay Shore Bandshell beginning Friday, May 22, according to an announcement from the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Bay Shore.
The weekly market will be held Fridays from 3 to 7 p.m., offering residents a walkable place to shop for farm-fresh food and locally made goods heading into the weekend.
“This return was truly community-driven,” said Edward Fraser, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Bay Shore. “We heard from many residents who called and emailed the Chamber asking for a Farmers Market they could walk to, where they could pick up farm-fresh items, breads, and more for the weekend. We listened.”
Last year, the market was relocated to Chef Jo Jo’s on Union Boulevard as a pilot effort. While the alternative location offered a different experience, Fraser said feedback made it clear the community missed the accessibility and walkability of the Bandshell.

“While we appreciated the opportunity to try something new, the feedback was loud and clear, the community missed being able to walk to the market,” Fraser added. “Bringing it back to the Bandshell is about meeting people where they are and honoring what makes Bay Shore special.”
The market is presented by the South Shore Farmers Market, which worked with the Chamber to select dates and hours aimed at maximizing access and participation.
Organizers say the return will once again activate the waterfront with local farmers, food artisans, and a family-friendly atmosphere that supports small businesses and community connection.
The Bay Shore Farmers Market will run Fridays starting May 22, from 3 to 7 p.m., at the Bay Shore Bandshell on Main Street.
