Long Island’s own Flavor Flav is ready to roll out the red carpet for some of America’s gold medalists.
The hip-hop icon from Roosevelt has invited the U.S. women’s Olympic hockey team to Sin City to celebrate its big win, after the players declined an invitation to attend President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address tonight in Washington, D.C.
“If the USA Women’s Hockey team wants a real celebration and invite, I’ll host them in Las Vegas,” Flav wrote on social media. “Do some nice dinners and shows and good times.”
Following the men’s gold medal overtime win on Sunday, a video was posted on social media of Trump congratulating the team, with an invitation to the nations capitol. During the call, he also mentioned the women’s team.
“I must tell you, we’re going to have bring the woman’s team. You do know that?” the President said with a chuckle.
He added, “I do believe I would probably be impeached” if he didn’t invite the women.
A USA Hockey spokesperson said the women’s team was “sincerely grateful” for the recognition but declined due to previously scheduled academic and professional commitments after returning from the Games.
In Flavor Flav’s post, he added, “I’m sure I can get a hotel and airline to help me out here and celebrate these women for real for real.”
