A Jimmy John’s has opened in Miller Place, exposing a new section of Long Island to the chain’s signature made-to-order sandwiches.
The new shop is in the Aliano Shopping Center on Route 25A. It is Suffolk County’s second Jimmy John’s, as well as the first east of the Sagtikos Parkway. Huntington Station is home to Suffolk’s other Jimmy John’s, with stores also located in Nassau County’s Levittown and Baldwin.
The opening is part of a broader development surge along Route 25A in Miller Place.
Trader Joe’s opened nearby in February, a Hummus Fit is scheduled to open later this month in the Miller Place Plaza, a new True Value is under construction next to Trader Joe’s, and further down the road, a Sobol and a Mister Softee are planned for the Aliano Shopping Center.
Founded in 1983 in Charleston, Illinois, Jimmy John’s operates more than 2,700 locations nationwide and is part of Inspire Brands, which also owns Arby’s, Sonic Drive-In, Dunkin’, Baskin-Robbins and Buffalo Wild Wings.
The Italian Night Club, the turkey-based Beach Club, the Bootlegger Club and the Billy Club are among the fan favorites at Jimmy John’s.
The Miller Place shop is run by the same franchisee behind Atomic Wings, which opened its first stand-alone Long Island location last year in the same shopping center. The Miller Place Jimmy John’s began serving customers in late February.
Jimmy John’s is known for its compact menu focused on cold and toasted sandwiches, simple ingredients and fast service. The chain has steadily expanded across the East Coast in recent years, appealing to customers looking for a quick lunch or dinner option.
