A new burrito concept is rolling into Lindenhurst — but it’s not what it might seem at first glance.
The team behind Great South Bay Brewery isn’t going anywhere. Instead, the Davis family is reimagining its Lindenhurst restaurant at 147 S. Wellwood Ave., transforming the space into Breakers Burrito Bar, a surf-inspired spot set to open April 1, according to an announcement.
The location, which opened in a century-old bank building in spring 2024, is temporarily closed while the overhaul takes place.
Chris Palmer, who’s partnered with the Davis family on the burrito venture, is introducing a new menu centered around burritos, tacos and Southern California-style street food.
“Breakers’ menu is a mash up of burritos and popular SoCal street foods, using ingredients not typically found in that space offering a truly refreshing dining experience,” Palmer said in a statement.
The reworked concept will also feature a beachy, laid-back design to match the menu.
In addition to the food, Breakers will offer 12 draft beers and a lineup of handcrafted cocktails, giving customers the option to stop in for a quick bite or stay awhile.
“Breakers Burrito Bar is the surf & swim haven for anyone looking to break away from the grind,” the announcement reads. “Whether it’s grabbing lunch to-go or dining in, you will feel like you just walked into a cozy beach spot that never disappoints.”
The Bay Shore and Ronkonkoma Great South Bay Brewery locations will remain unchanged, ownership said.
