Jazz brunch hits Patchogue alongside indulgent new weekend menu

|

Amsterdam brings live music, bold brunch menu to Main St.

Acoustic brunches on Saturdays and jazz brunches on Sundays are being paired with a menu that doesn’t play it safe.

And it’s all happening at Amsterdam in Patchogue, every weekend.

The restaurant, which took over the former That Meetball Place space on West Main Street late last year, has rolled out a new weekend brunch that pairs live music with a menu that leans creative, indulgent and a little bit Southern.

Announced on social media in recent days, the weekend brunches are already drawing attention for both the vibe and its lineup of dishes, ranging from elevated comfort food to classic brunch staples with a twist.

According to the restaurant’s newly released menu, diners can expect a wide mix of options across bennies, omelettes, handhelds and more.

That includes dishes like a crab cake eggs Benedict with creole hollandaise, a lobster Benedict with butter-poached lobster, and a steak and eggs scramble topped with bourbon-infused bacon jam.

On the sweeter side, options include buttermilk pancakes with fried plantains and caramel crème fraîche, chocolate chip stacks, and a banana foster pancake served with vanilla ice cream.

For those leaning toward lunch, the handheld section features items like a Nashville hot chicken sandwich, a pastrami Reuben, a shrimp po’ boy wrap and an “Amster-dam burger” topped with fried egg and bacon jam.

The menu also pulls in Southern influences with dishes like shrimp and grits and grilled steak served over creole-style grits.

All of it is set against a live jazz and acoustic backdrop (depending on the day) — a move that signals Amsterdam’s push to create more of an experience-driven destination in Patchogue’s already crowded dining scene.

The concept builds on the restaurant’s broader reinvention following its transition from That Meetball Place, when ownership introduced a new identity alongside Millie’s Smash Bar inside the same footprint.
