A Long Island actor is headed to primetime television Tuesday night.
Brandon Gilpin, an Amityville High School and Long Island High School for the Arts graduate, will appear on Fox’s new series “Best Medicine” on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 8 p.m.
Gilpin, who graduated in 2017, has been acting for about a decade and has previously appeared on shows including “Blue Bloods,” “Grown-ish” and “P-Valley.”
“I’ve been acting for about 10 years now, I auditioned and I got the part!” Gilpin told Greater Long Island.
“Best Medicine” centers on Martin Best, a top Boston surgeon who walks away from his high-profile medical career and returns to the small East Coast fishing community where he spent his childhood summers, taking on a new role as the town’s general practitioner.
The series stars Josh Charles, Abigail Spencer and Josh Segarra.
For Gilpin, working on the show also came with a setting that felt familiar.
“The experience was amazing! Worked with a lot of really cool actors! The fictional town of (port WENN) in the show, they really made feel like a really smalll town similarly to Long Island!” he said.
Gilpin’s episode of “Best Medicine” airs Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 8 p.m. on Fox.
