The New York Lottery announced today that a third-prize-winning ticket in Monday’s Powerball drawing was sold in Bay Shore.
Worth $50,000, the lucky ticket matched four of the five winning numbers drawn from a field of one to 69, as well as the red Power Ball that comes from a separate field of one to 26. Lottery officials said the ticket was purchased at Shore Stationary & Gifts, located at 184 Howells Road.
The winning numbers selected were 3, 9, 26, 61 and 67; the Power Ball number was 13.
There were no winners of the jackpot, which was an estimated $225 million. A second-prize ticket worth $1 million was purchased at a Mobil gas station in Tewksbury, Massachusetts.
Overall in New York, there were more than 4,000 winning tickets sold in Monday’s Powerball drawing, with prizes ranging from $4 to $50,000, totaling over $161,000.
Earlier this year, $50,000 third-prize winning tickets were sold in Bay Shore at 7-Eleven, 640 Pine Aire Drive, and at Jell Convenience, 1197 Sunrise Highway.
Last December, a $1 million second-prize ticket was sold at Parkway Express, 1460 Brentwood Road.
The Powerball drawing is televised every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
