Babylon chamber postpones annual Chinese auction

|

The Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce is moving its popular Chinese auction to next month as concerns of coronavirus grow in the local community.

The sold-out fundraiser was originally set for March 11 at The Piermont; it will now happen in the same location on April 28.

Changing the date was a tough decision to make, said chamber president Kelly Peckholdt.

“Over the last couple of days we’ve received messages asking if we are still holding the event or asking us for a refund because of concerns of coronavirus,” she told GreaterBabylon.

According to reports, Suffolk County has one confirmed case of the virus with 18 other patients tested because of symptoms of COVID-19.

On the new date, the doors will open at 6 p.m. with raffles begin called around 7:30 p.m.

For those who can’t make this date and time, you can get a refund by emailing babylonvillagechamber1@gmail.com.
