Baked with Grace comes to Patchogue, sets up shop inside Cloud Nine Ice Cream

|

A sweet collaboration has taken off in Patchogue Village.

Baked with Grace, a cookie pie business founded by 21-year-old Grace Reilly, began as an activity to pass the time during quarantine and has quickly become a local sensation.

After capturing a large following on social media, Reilly opened her first brick-and-mortar last summer at 65 Deer Park Ave. in downtown Babylon Village. Eight months later, Patchogue’s Cloud Nine Ice Cream & Cereal Bar owner Matthew Pesko came calling with a great opportunity.

“He came to my shop one day when my dad was working and was amazed at how small my shop was because I don’t bake there, I have another facility to bake,” Reilly said. “He was like, ‘Oh my god, this would be perfect if she wanted a space in my shop.'”

Reilly soon visited Cloud Nine, where she saw an empty counter inside the store that would prove to be the ideal amount of space she’d need to set up shop.

“I fit in perfectly there,” she said.

For those not familiar, a cookie pie is baked in pie tins and filled with all different flavors. Baking them in tins allows the cookie to come out thick and gooey. Reilly bakes up a variety of flavors, includng birthday cake, chocolate chip, rainbow cookie, brownies and cream, peanut butter cup, peanut butter Oreo and cinnamon roll.

Those who visit Baked with Grace inside Cloud Nine Ice Cream at 38 S. Ocean Ave. can indulge in Cloud Nine ice cream on top of a warm cookie pie, a combination Reilly said she doesn’t offer in Babylon Village.

The two businesses take their partnership a step further with cookie-pie-infused ice cream.

“For my grand opening, a lot of my Babylon customers drove [to Patchogue] to try the ice cream, [and] for everyone who was new, they thought it was great,” Reilly said.

Baked with Grace in Patchogue is open Wednesday to Friday, 5-10 p.m., and Saturday to Sunday, noon-10 p.m.
