After being canceled in both 2020 and 2021 due to COVID concerns and restrictions, the organizers of the Bay Shore Brightwaters St. Patrick’s Parade are looking forward to its triumphant return to Main Street.
The parade starts on Saturday, March 12, at 2 p.m., with paraders stepping off on Saxon Avenue and proceeding west.
This is a rain, sleet, snow or shine event, organizers emphasize.

Tim Mooney, president and owner of the Fire Island Ferries, remains the Grand Marshal of the parade and will finally get his chance this year to lead the long-standing tradition in his hometown.
“Tim Mooney is very deserving, the last thing we wanted to do was extend it for another year,” said Kelly McCarthy, parade organizer.
The day is typically marked as one of the biggest each year in the business district as well.
