Greater Sayville coverage is funded in part by The Shed, your scratch kitchen for brunch and dinner daily at 21 Main St. in West Sayville.
Bayport Tavern, the latest eatery incarnation at 291 Bayport Ave., opened this past weekend.
Formerly JT’s Farmhouse — and before that The Greyhorse Tavern — Bayport Tavern kicked off in style, with a grand opening event Saturday that featured live music, and plenty of food and drink options.
The new ownership team, which includes some of the partners who owned JT’s Farmhouse, rolled out a menu that includes American and seasonal dishes. The plan was to rebrand the restaurant as a family-friendly spot.
The team will introduce weekday specials, including “kids eat free” days.
Three years ago, an ownership team led by Justin Tempelman took over the 150-year-old building and revamped it as a Southern comfort restaurant.
