A big-chain retailer has opened for business in Bay Shore.
Big Lots, which sells a variety of items from furniture to grocery, launched last week at 1851 Sunrise Highway, in the former space that occupied Toys R Us.
The retailer, which is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, has over 1,400 stores across the U.S. There are several locations on Long Island, including in Centereach, Holbrook, West Babylon, and Copiague.
According to a release by the Town of Islip, Big Lots held its ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, Feb. 8. Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Town Councilman John Cochrane participated with the celebration with management and staff.
hours of operation
Big Lots is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
