Buoy 35 wraps up first summer in Blue Point; will be open year-round

|

The news: Buoy 35, a new year-round waterfront restaurant, opened this summer at Corey Beach in Blue Point.

Background: Located at 1 Curtis Road, the restaurant was established by the Blue Point Hospitality Group, known for operating the well-loved Bodhi’s Beach Shack just down the block. It took over the space formerly occupied by JT’s on The Bay after Justin Tempelman, the previous owner, retired following 16 years of running the establishment. The restaurant is situated at the Blue Point Marina along Corey Creek, with views of the Great South Bay.

“We heard that the space was available, and we love the neighborhood and the people, so we wanted to open up a restaurant that the locals could enjoy,” a spokesperson of the Blue Point Hospitality Group told GLI.

They opened in August.

  • Unlike its predecessor, Buoy 35 will operate in all four seasons but will be closed on Tuesdays during the off-season.

Menu: Buoy 35 serves an American menu with plenty of seafood options, including scallops with lobster risotto and a mahi Reuben.

Hours: The restaurant is currently operating Wednesday to Monday, from noon to 9 p.m.

Parking: On-site parking spaces, street parking, and municipal parking near the beach are available, along with dockside spots for boaters.

Events: The owners say they will host several outings throughout the year, including parties during Christmas, St. Patrick’s Day, and Oktoberfest.
