This weekend will be your last chance to grab giant, stuffed cookies from Chonky Cookies in Lindenhurst.
That’s because the cookie company announced the sad news they will be closing down their shop at 646 N. Wellwood Ave in Sunrise Plaza.
This Sunday, Nov. 5, will be their last day of operations there. Here are the remaining hours of operations:
- Friday: 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.
- Saturday: 11 a.m – 10 p.m.
- Sunday: 12 a.m. – 7 p.m.
“Thanks so much to all the supporters these last two years,” wrote Chonky Cookie owner Heather Friedfertig on Instagram. “It’s been a wonderfully challenging journey, and seeing the joy on customers faces has been the sweetest part.”
Friedfertig started baking at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic to cure her boredom. Her gooey, delicious creations quickly gained traction on Instagram. Her account has over 26,000 followers. She then opened her shop in August of 2021.
