From a young age, a career in home improvement seemed inevitable for Chris Feniello.
“I just remember as a kid that my great aunt was building homes in Hauppauge, my cousins were working in the sheetrock and drywall industry, and my mom was designing the interiors of homes and doing window treatments,” said Feniello, a managing partner with Long Island’s Clearview Roofing & Construction.
In fact, his mother Jacqlyn honed her craft as an interior decorator for more than 35 years and his great aunt, Jean Ross, was one of the first woman builders on Long Island.

Inspired by their pioneering spirits, Feniello discovered his passion for construction as a young adult and has made roofing and construction his profession for over 20 years.
Today, alongside his business partner Kevin Desmond, Feniello proudly carries on the legacy as the third generation of ownership at Clearview Roofing & Construction, which has offices in Huntington, Northport, Rockville Centre and Port Washington.

It’s about experience
Founded in 1961 by Desmond’s father and uncle, the family-owned business has long been a trusted name in the roofing and construction industry across Long Island and Queens.
Clearview Roofing & Construction specializes in residential and commercial roofing, construction and every aspect of restoration, including water mitigation; painting; sheetrock repair; flooring; trim, door and window replacement; and working with insurance companies to restore homes to their pre-incident condition.
The company also builds homes from the ground up and provides expertise in chimney repair and replacement, siding, fencing, and deck construction.
Their comprehensive know-how allows Clearview to address all aspects of a project, ensuring clients receive a seamless and efficient experience from start to finish, Feniello said.
“We have foremen who have over 35 years of experience. You’re getting guys that have been doing this their whole lives,” he said. “Each of our team members are specialists in their trade. Whatever trade we do, we’re giving the customer a professional in the trade.
“We’re not going to have the siding guy do the painting,” Feniello continued. “And we’re not going to have the painter do the roof.”
Clearview Roofing & Construction additionally excels in flat roofing and is adept at working with slate, a century-old product that requires specialized skills.
And as important as the company’s exceptional craftsmanship is, its unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction has been crucial to its six decades of success. As part of this approach, Feniello emphasized how vital it is to maintain continual communication and transparency with clients.
“We constantly communicate with our customers and keep them updated,” said Feniello, whose team makes sure at the beginning of projects to set realistic expectations for their customers.
“The quality of our work is indicative of our experience,” he continued. “Our foreshadowing really sets us apart. We see ahead of the curve to eliminate costly surprises for our customers.”
Moreover, Feniello makes sure his team is properly trained and up-to-date with building trends and manufacturer guidelines.
“We send our workers to manufacturer trainings, so that we install the roof the way the manufacturer wants it installed and the siding the way the manufacturer tells us to,” he said.
This ensures that Clearview Roofing & Construction customers receive manufacturer-backed warranties and the peace of mind that comes with such provisions, Feniello said.
Building trust for the future
The company’s commitment to excellence is reflected in their certifications and accolades. It holds an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, routinely wins the annual Angi Super Service Award and is the highest reviewed and highest rated roofing contractor on the Home Advisor service.
“We don’t leave a job with an unhappy customer,” Feniello said. “When we say ‘Since 1961, trust Clearview,’ it’s not only about our experience but it’s also that we want to earn customers’ trust and keep it — so we can continue to serve their generations of family for years to come.”
