What’s going on at the former Castle Kids property in Mastic?
According to a building permit filed with the town on Feb. 15, permission has been granted for a pharmacy at 1401 Montauk Highway. And in December 2015, the town’s planning board approved the construction of a pharmacy proposed by Shirley Pharmacy and Surgicals.
The site plan for the .37-acre property calls for a 144-square-foot addition and facade changes, according to documents filed with the town.
However, a person named Warren who answered the phone at an existing Shirley Pharmacy and Surgicals, located at 464 William Floyd Parkway in Shirley, said “no determination has been made” about the future of the property.
When asked to speak to the owner, he said, “He will reach out when the time is appropriate.”
