Everything you need to know for this year’s Easter parade and egg hunt

|

Treats, Easter eggs and lots of fun are always in the plans for the yearly Old-Fashion Easter Bonnet Walking Parade in Port Jefferson.

The event, which is run by the Greater Port Jeff Chamber of Commerce each Easter Sunday, will start at noon this year on April 1.

All are welcome to walk in the parade —  just make sure to bring your bunny ears, says the chamber’s director of operations Barbara Ransome

“I enjoy seeing the kids,” said Ransome. “The kids and their Easter-best outfits are adorable”

The parade starts at Theatre Three and ends at the Port Jefferson Village Center.

Around 500 attendees participate in the walk. After the march, there will be an Easter egg hunt around 12:30 p.m. at Harborfront park for children between 2 and 8.

All children will receive a treat.

And the kids may even see the Easter bunny hopping around during the festivities.
