Family desperate to find Farmingdale girl, 12, missing two weeks: ‘Pray for her safe return’

The family of a 12-year-old Farmingdale girl who has ben missing for two weeks is pleading for help from the public to find her.

“My niece Gianna is still missing it is two weeks today!” Amy Apfelbaum-Tocco posted late Monday regarding the disappearance of Giana Tocco.

“Please anyone if you have seen her contact the police or the missing person phone number below,” she added, referring to the Nassau County Police report that asks individuals to call the department’s Missing Persons Squad at 516.573.7347 or 911 with information on Gianna’s whereabouts.

Police announced the pre-teen’s disappearance on Tuesday, Nov. 12, noting that she hadn’t been seen since leaving her home on Nov. 11 at 3 p.m. “Her destination is unknown but possibly may be traveling to the Bronx,” the police report said.

Since then, Gianna’s aunt has posted regularly on Facebook about the girl’s disappearance, hoping it will lead to tips on where she is located.

“Please share this with as many people as you can in groups. She lives in Farmingdale. The last sighting was in the Bronx,” Apfelbaum-Tocco said in a Nov. 16 post. “Pray for her safe return.”

She clarified that Gianna was seen in the Bronx in the morning on Nov. 16. Fliers have been posted saying she was last seen near Popeyes at Boston Road and Eastchester Avenue.

A Facebook page Gianna Tocco is Missing has been created. An email address, [email protected], has also been set up to accept tips.

Police said Gianna is 5-foot-5 and weighs 185 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair, and was last seen wearing a black shirt, black leggings and black sandals.

Gianna’s aunt, Kelsey Smith, has also been actively seeking help in her niece’s safe return to home.

“Please my Bronx residents if you see my neice Please call 911 immediately as everybody is worried sick and wants her home safe,” Smith said on Facebook. “Please go home babygirl ❤️✨️ your so loved and missed.”
