Family-fun Fall Equinox celebration this Saturday at Washington Lodge in Brookhaven

|

Summer may be over but it doesn’t mean the party has to stop.

Recall that every ending is a new beginning.

And on Saturday, the Center for Environmental Education and Discovery (CEED) is hosting a family-friendly Fall Equinox festival from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Brookhaven Hamlet.

“This is probably going to be the biggest and best event yet,” said CEED’s board president, Rebecca Muellers.

Right outside of CEED headquarters at the Washington Lodge, located at 287 South Country Road, there will be food, raffles, facing painting, arts and crafts for children, live music and dance performances.

Experts will also be on hand to explain what the Fall Equinox is, and field questions.

CEED’s wildlife expert, Eric Powers, will also be at the festival with his live animals; he especially likes to showcase his snakes and bearded dragon.

The kiddies can also meet the Priceless Parrot Preserve, which will be bringing their talkative birds.

“It is going to be a good ole’ fashion, fun celebration,” said Muellers.
