Family Liquor & Wine opens near the train station in Bay Shore

|

There’s a brand new liquor store in Bay Shore.

Husband and wife Xavier Zhang and Rachel Lin opened Family Liquor & Wine Inc., just last month, on Dec. 16, in a former nail salon at 84 Park Avenue.

(And as you’ll find out later, they stay open until 7 p.m. on Sundays.)

Being right next to the Bay Shore railroad station on 84 Park Avenue, Zhang and Lin said they’re hoping to share more local wines from Long Island’s East End to visitors and city commuters.

Zhang, a Brooklyn native of 16 years, says there’s a lack of Suffolk County wines in the five boroughs; therefore he decided with his wife to change that.

“We wanted to contribute to Long Island’s economy, so that’s when we knew to buy local,” said Lin, whose store of course carries wine and spirits from elsewhere in the U.S. and the world as well.

Family Liquor and Wine Inc.’s local wines include Raphael, Pindar, and Pugliese Vineyards.

“We want to give the people great wine and it comes from New York,” said Zhang.

The store’s hours are Monday through Thursday 10 a.m.- 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10 a.m- 10 p.m., and Sunday from noon- 7 p.m.
