Farmingdale’s John’s Crazy Socks is official sock for pro bowlers tour

|

Long Island’s John’s Crazy Socks is the official athletic sock of the Professional Bowlers Association Tour for the 2025 season, as part of a new sponsorship agreement with the bowling organization.

The partnership launched at the PBA Delaware Classic in Middletown, Delaware, where company co-founder John Cronin, who has Down syndrome, rolled the ceremonial first ball.

Cronin’s story has gained national attention as he’s broken barriers and stereotypes while building a successful business that celebrates individuality and inclusion.

Under the agreement, Cronin’s Farmingdale-based business will produce PBA-licensed high-performance athletic socks featuring the PBA logo. The products are available for purchase at PBA Tour events and on the company’s website.

“The official PBA sock is designed with input from PBA bowlers,” said Mark Cronin, who co-founded the business with his son John in 2016.

An inspiring mission

PBA Commissioner Tom Clark cited both the product quality and the company’s mission.

“John’s Crazy Socks’ origin story and mission are inspiring,” Clark said. “Plus, the product is fun and practical for all bowlers. We are proud to partner with this organization.”

Professional bowlers Kyle Troup, the 2021 Player of the Year with 12 tour victories, and Packy Hanrahan will serve as brand ambassadors. Custom socks designed for both bowlers will be available for purchase online.

“I am so excited to work with Kyle, Packy and the PBA,” John Cronin said. “Bowling is a great sport and our socks will help them express their personalities and love for the game.”

The sponsorship gives John’s Crazy Socks significant exposure across FS1 and FOX broadcasts, digital platforms, and venue displays throughout the season. The PBA reaches bowling enthusiasts in more than 30 countries.

Since its founding, John’s Crazy Socks has grown to become the world’s largest online sock store with over 4,000 designs. The company donates five percent of earnings to charity partners, raising more than $800,000 to date, including over $150,000 for Special Olympics New York.

The socks company employs a workforce where more than half have a differing ability.
