Five interesting items to try from Wallen’s Natural Market

|

Wallen’s Natural Market is a health food store.

That’s health, as in healthy living, which doesn’t necessarily mean losing weight. (Though the two often go hand-in-hand.)

To that end, you won’t find any diet soda at Wallen’s

As husband-and-wife owners Bob and Laura Wallen often explain, “fat free” or “sugar free” typically means packed with chemicals, which common sense would dictate are not good for you.

Wallen’s, which opened in August 2013, specializes in chemical-free sweets, organically farmed beef and poultry, and natural health and beauty products.

So if you want a chemical-free alternative to Skippy peanut butter, or a gluten- and grain-free pasta alternative to Barilla, Wallen’s is your place.

We stopped by the South Ocean Avenue market Friday to give readers a better idea of what’s there.
