Pack up the kiddies but leave the picnic basket at home because Flo’s is coming to the beach this summer.

Flo’s Luncheonette has reached a deal with Brookhaven Town to take over a portion of the Corey Beach snack and lifeguard hut on Corey Beach in Blue Point.

Flo’s newest venture is conveniently located right on the sand, and it will feature outdoor seating.

The town approved a three-year contract (with an option of seven years) to allow the snack shack to serve hot food.

Unlike the Flo’s full American menu down the street from the beach, on Middle Road, Flo’s on the sand will keep it simple, explained Flo’s Luncheonette owner Connor Vigliotta.

The menu will consist of tacos and acai bowls, at least to start, along with some snacks.

“The shack will be Flo’s, but it will have it’s own entity,” said Vigliotta.

Flo’s is currently renovating the building for a May launch. There’s been a brand new kitchen installed and there will be some cosmetic changes as well.

Prior to Flo’s, Brookhaven Town had had several different vendors operating in the building.

“The town has been great to us,” said Vigliotta,”They want to satisfy the local community and we want to bring great food, so it was a good connection.”

The shack will be open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday to Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The concession stand will run seasonly and close down in September, just like the original Flo’s Luncheonette location a short walk away on Middle Road.

The year-round Flo’s Luncheonette on West Main Street in Patchogue closed in December to make way for the new Blue Point Brewery.

But Flo’s has been in growth mode since closing, Vigliotta assured, mentioning the company is searching for suitable areas to open up a new Flo’s, such as Sayville or Bellport Village.
