Fashion retailer Forever 21 is set to close locations nationwide, including six on Long Island, amid financial troubles, according to several reports.
The California-based company is planning on shutting down its Los Angeles corporate office and lay off more than 350 employees as it prepares for Chapter 11 liquidation, USA Today reports.
Forever 21 previously filed for bankruptcy in 2019 and is expected to do so again. The retailer plans to close more than 200 stores across the country, including 21 in the New York and New Jersey area, according to a list shared by PIX11.
The Long Island locations slated for closure include:
- South Shore Mall – Bay Shore
- Roosevelt Field – Garden City
- Smith Haven Mall – Lake Grove
- Tanger Outlets Deer Park – Deer Park
- Tanger Outlets Riverhead – Riverhead
- Green Acres Mall – Valley Stream

An employee at the Bay Shore location confirmed the store’s impending closure, saying they had just learned the news and were unsure of an exact closing date.
Founded in 1984, Forever 21 sells women’s and men’s apparel, accessories, and jewelry. The retailer also has wide selection to choose from its online store.
