Patchogue Village is making it a bit easier for shoppers in the village this holiday season.
Starting on Wednesday, Dec. 13, and running until Christmas Eve, on-street parking in the downtown area will be free until 6 p.m.
Typically, the meters on Main Street, Ocean Avenue and Railroad Avenue start at 10 a.m. Monday through Saturday.
The back parking lot meters will still start at 6 p.m.
“We call it the 12 Days of Christmas,” said Deputy Mayor Jack Krieger.
“The Village was very gracious for providing us free parking for the 12 days before Christmas,” said David Kennedy of the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce.
“It makes it very convenient for everyone who is doing their holiday shopping.”
Also, the chamber is encouraging shoppers to use the hashtag #boughtitinpatchogue on any social media posts this season while out and about.
