Something sweet is coming to Yaphank.
Greater Long Island has confirmed that Paris Baguette, the popular international bakery café known for its French-inspired pastries, cakes and coffee, has signed a lease at The Boulevard, a 322-acre mixed-use development featuring retail and housing.
The new café will move into a currently vacant building next to The Pizzeria, which recently announced its own plans to open at the site.
While the lease has been finalized, design plans are still being worked out.
The café is expected to include its own outdoor seating area, and if everything stays on track, the Yaphank location is “hopefully” slated to open by the fall.
Founded in South Korea in 1988, Paris Baguette has grown into a global brand and has been expanding rapidly across the United States.
On Long Island, the bakery café already has locations in Garden City, Plainview, Huntington and Commack.
The Shoppes at The Boulevard is already home to Walmart, Starbucks, Tropical Smoothie, Bagel Boss, Southpaw Brewing and a Home2 Suites by Hilton.
Greater Long Island has also learned that The Pizzeria is targeting a summer opening, while a new nail salon planned for the Verizon building is also aiming to open by summer.
“It’s a vibrant shopping center, a vibrant community,” said Brian Ferruggiari of AVR Realty Co. “This was always the intent. We wanted to build a walkable community for the people that live there.”
