Local doughnut news keeps getting better.
On Wednesday, we learned that Long Island’s Glenn Wayne Bakery is opening the company’s first brick-and-mortar shop, in Selden on Monday, July 1. And they’re calling it Glenn’s Donuts.
Now, we’re informed that all paying customers will receive a free box of doughnuts as part of a Grand Opening Special throughout the day on Monday. The promotion starts when the store — inside Independence Plaza (same as Target) on Route 25 — opens for the first time at 8 a.m.
“Get ready, donut lovers! We’re officially open this Monday and can’t wait to serve you. To celebrate, we’re giving away a free box of donuts with your first purchase,” the business said in its second-ever post on its new Glenn’s Donuts Instagram account. “Don’t miss out!”
Glenn Wayne Bakery is a family-owned and operated business in operation since 1990. It was founded by Alessi and his brother-in-law, Wayne.
The bakery isn’t just in the doughnut business. They also sell danishes, cookies, muffins, butter cookies and other baked items.
