With pipers piping and drummers drumming, the annual Bayport Blue Point St. Patrick’s Day parade delighted a crowd of hundreds of families and friends on Sunday.
Over 60 groups marched east on Montauk Highway from Snedecor Avenue to Blue Point Avenue, including the Bayport and Blue Point fire departments, boy and girl scout troops, chambers of commerce and the Bayport-Blue Point Marching Band.
Spectators sporting green enjoyed their favorite beers from local joints, waved Irish flags and cheered in mass as the 90-minute procession passed.
