Greater Long Island sets new pageview record in September

|

Greater Long Island, a hyperlocal news platform covering all things Long Island, is celebrating another milestone as it shattered its previous pageview record in September, drawing a whopping 609,821 views from 454,998 unique visitors.

That blew away February’s all-time record of 579,453 views on greaterlongisland.com, published by Greater Long Island Media Group, Inc.

“It’s clear that Long Islanders have a continued interest in quality, engaging local news,” said Nicholas Esposito, the editorial director of Greater Long Island. “It’s awesome to see and be a part of. As we continue to grow, we’ll continue to double down on our commitment to produce high-quality storytelling.”

Greater Long Island is on track to surpass 6.8 million pageviews this year, marking yet another significant milestone for the island’s fastest-growing news company. In 2022, the site reached over 4.6 million views.

About GLI

The roots of Greater Long Island can be traced back to 2015 when Michael White, a seasoned newspaperman, launched greaterpatchogue.com. This platform initially focused on downtown Patchogue, its surrounding hamlets, and Bellport Village.

As other Long Island communities recognized the value of Greater Patchogue’s style of news coverage, the site evolved into greaterlongisland.com, expanding its reach to cover news island-wide. This expansion, particularly into Nassau County last year, contributed to the platform’s growing popularity.

Greater Long Island’s success is driven by a dedicated team of Long Island-bred reporters and photographers, many of whom have extensive experience in some of the world’s largest newsrooms, including the New York Post, Daily News, and ESPN.

This year, Greater LI earned its first Emmy nomination for its mini-sports documentary called “Survivor: The Definitive Story of Dunia Sibomona.”
