Greater Long Island welcomes Michael Hynes of Pat-Med as a regular columnist

|

The outspoken superintendent of Patchogue-Medford School District, Michael Hynes, will soon be joining the greaterlongisland.com team as a regular columnist.

His pieces will be published to GreaterPatchogue and then shared across the company’s other community news website audiences through social media, newsletters, push notifications and Google News.

Dr. Hynes, of Sayville, has already written columns for GreaterPatchogue. His latest, about the importance of recess and play in schools, is among one of the best-read posts ever published to the site.

“It’s a privilege to not only work with [Greater Long Island publisher] Michael White, but to be able to share some of my thoughts regarding education and what children need and deserve with the Greater Patchogue community and beyond,” said Dr. Hynes. “I can’t wait to get started.”

For his part, White said Dr. Hynes’ columns are a perfect fit for Greater Long Island.

“As a news organization, we’re all about being accessible, insightful, thoughtful, helpful and, above all, constructive,” said White. “I’m familiar with Dr. Hynes and his work — and he is all of those things.”
