Here’s what to know about the new Chick-fil-A opening on Long Island

|

Long Island is about to welcome its 10th Chick-fil-A location.

On Thursday, the popular chicken sandwich chain will open a new restaurant in Farmingville at Expressway Plaza Shopping Center, located off County Road 83. The restaurant was built in an unused section of the center, next to the recently renovated Burger King.

The 4,776-square-foot restaurant offers dine-in, drive-thru, and carry-out services. Its hours of operation are 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday. As always, Chick-fil-A restaurants are closed on Sundays.

This franchise is owned and operated by Rod Singleton, a veteran who served 28 years in the United States Air Force.

“Making a positive impact on my community is an important part of my life, and I view Chick-fil-A Expressway Plaza as an extension of my own home,” said Singleton. “My desire is to be the cornerstone of care in the Farmingville community, and my hope is to create a restaurant that not only serves great food, but also provides a welcoming, positive environment for our Guests and Team Members alike.”

Singleton plans to support the community through the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, which redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks, and nonprofits in need. Additionally, he intends to offer 100 meals to local heroes.

The restaurant will employ approximately 115 people, including both part-time and full-time positions.

Chick-fil-A’s Growth on Long Island

Chick-fil-A first came to Long Island in 2015 with the opening of its Port Jefferson Station store at 5184 Nesconset Highway.

With the Farmingville opening, there will now be 10 Chick-fil-A locations on Long Island, including stores in Port Jefferson, Smithtown, Commack, Huntington, Farmingdale, Levittown, Hicksville, Westbury, and Garden City (Roosevelt Field Mall).

More locations are in the works.

A Chick-fil-A spokesperson confirmed that new restaurants are planned for West Babylon, Riverhead, Selden, Medford, Lake Ronkonkoma, and East Meadow. Stay tuned to GreaterLongIsland.com for updates on these new locations.
