The operators of Argyle Theatre say they have the perfect show for the holiday season.
“It’s wholesome, heartwarming, entertaining, and it’s good for all ages,” said Dylan Perlman, Argyle’s co-owner, who rolled out “Miracle on 34th Street” on Thursday, Nov. 14.
According to Perlman, the show’s tickets are going faster than any show ever done by the Babylon Village theater.
“Because it is based on an iconic movie people want to see it,” said Perlman, “And people are bringing their grandchildren to expose them to the story for the first time — it’s amazing.”
The show, which runs until Dec. 29, is approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes long.
the plot
For those who haven’t seen the classic 1947 Chrismas comedy, the story follows a man claiming to be the real Kris Kringle, who wants to take place of the phony Santa Claus at Macy’s in New York City.
During this, a single mother named Doris Walker doesn’t want her six-year-old daughter believing in fairy tales. That is until her neighbor, Fred Gailey, brings them to meet Santa, where magical moments occur.
“[The show] is filled with humor, spectacle, and such beloved songs,” writes the theatre.
