Holiday drive-thru event kicks off Dec. 1 at Babylon Town Hall

|

Babylon Town Hall is merry and bright as the community rings in the holiday season.

Provided by the Town of Babylon Park’s Department, Supervisor Rich Schaffer, Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez, and the Babylon Town Board, the town’s holiday drive-thru experience started tonight at 6 p.m.

“We are super excited to kick-off the holiday season by bringing back our drive-thru light show,” said Martinez, who is also chair of the town’s parks committee. “Last year’s drive-thru experience was so popular that we’ve expanded this year to three nights, including festive decorations, Santa’s workshop, and letters to the North Pole.”

The holiday drive-thru is on for tonight; Friday, Dec. 3; and Saturday, Dec. 4, all from 6-9 p.m.

The public is welcome to attend the free event and check out Babylon Town Hall at 200 East Sunrise Highway in Lindenhurst completely lit up.

Children have an opportunity to mail their letters to Santa — so be sure to make those wish lists and check them twice.

Attendees are strongly encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to benefit the town food pantry.

Those who want to experience the drive-thru holiday light show are asked to enter through Sunrise Highway onto North Indiana Avenue — don’t use Spiegelhagen Street or the surrounding residential neighborhoods.

“I encourage all residents to bring the whole family down to celebrate this wonderful time of year, and I thank our fantastic parks and rec staff for bringing this idea to reality,” Martinez said.
