|

These South Shore girls just got a chance to kick it with the pros.

Last week, professional women’s soccer team Lions Gibraltar Football Club began practicing at Van Bourgondien Park in West Babylon.

“The professional women’s team is holding its training camp in West Babylon to help develop new relationships,” a Babylon Town spokesperson said of the visitors.

During the club’s first day of training, the organization invited members of the South Shore Soccer Club to join.

“This is an amazing opportunity to grow the game here on Long Island,” said Robert Fifield, president of the South Shore Soccer Club. “We are always trying to do special things like this to give our players the best possible experience, and I thank Adrian and the rest of his organization for this awesome partnership.”

The Spanish soccer team, which is led by head coach Adrian Parral, is slated to play four friendly matches against local Nassau and Suffolk County teams during the stay.
