Jake’s 58 warns of scam offering online gaming, illegal in NYS

|

Jake’s 58 Casino Hotel is warning the public about a fraudulent online post falsely claiming to offer gambling services affiliated with the casino.

The establishment has confirmed that it does not provide any form of online gambling and is not connected to any websites, apps, or platforms making such claims.

According to a statement released by the casino, the scam appears to be an attempt to mislead users, using unauthorized logos, photos and branding to appear legitimate.

Jake’s 58 is urging people not to click on suspicious links or download any related content.

“Our guests’ security and trust are our top priorities,” said the casino in its announcement.

“We appreciate your continued support and encourage everyone to stay vigilant.”

Commenters on the Jake’s 58 Facebook page also responded:

“I did [receive a solicitation], but quickly realized to was a fraud as there is no legal online gambling in NY. I hope you are going after the people,” wrote one man.

“People should know the only legal online gambling in NY is sports betting,” another user wrote.
