Lindenhurst gym owner Bill Riccio wanted to do everything in his power to give back during the COVID-19 pandemic.
His business RiccioFit Strength & Movement Studio on West Hoffman is closed because of the state’s shutdown — that’s how he came up with this idea.
A few weeks ago, the Lindenhurst native started a private Facebook group where he provides free workout programs and nutritional tips for healthcare workers and first responders.
“We wanted to do something to offer our services,” said Riccio. “We just want to help.”
Riccio says the intention of his program is to help reduce stress during these trying times.
“Each week, I post several 10-15 minute home workouts,” said Riccio, a certified personal trainer. “It’s all bodyweight stuff.”
In a short-time period, the page has grown to 60 members.
“The feedback has been great so far, a lot of ‘Thank yous,'” said Riccio, who opened his fitness studio in 2017. “Our goal is to continue to do this as long as this is going on.”
And he says, the more the merrier. If you’re fit the criteria to join, you can click here.
