Marinas and golf courses to re-open in Sayville and across New York

|

New state guidelines issued Sunday have lifted restrictions at golf courses and for personal watercraft use and more at marinas.

Parks and other open spaces in Suffolk County and the rest of New York — with the exception of playgrounds and other areas deemed high density congregation — will also remain open.

“Marinas, boatyards, and recreational marine manufacturers, for ongoing marina operations and boat repair/maintenance, where such facilities adhere to strict social distancing and sanitization protocols,” reads the state’s updated Executive Order 2026.

“Use of such sites for the purposes of personal use or operation of boats or other watercraft is permissible, provided that no establishment offer chartered watercraft services or rentals.

“Restaurant activity at such sites are limited to take-out or delivery only.”

Locally, that means Fire Island locations will be able to open marina services, as well as adjoining restaurants for takeout and possibly delivery to boaters if the business deems such services helpful to business.
