Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is set to make a rare Long Island appearance this Monday, headlining a 4/20 event at Canna Blooms in Farmingville.
Iron Mike’s visit, scheduled for 1 p.m., caps a multi-day promotional push centered on Tyson’s cannabis line, Tyson 2.0, and comes as the new state-licensed cannabis dispensary ramps up sales and visibility heading into the unofficial cannabis holiday.
Canna Blooms, located at 2400 North Ocean Ave., will begin stocking its shelves with Tyson 2.0 products on Wednesday, according to Akash Jain, the shop’s head of marketing. Jain said the partnership came through industry networking and brand connections.
He called Tyson’s visit a “major visibility moment for the brand and store.”
As part of the promotion, the first 100 customers who purchase Tyson 2.0 products beginning Saturday at 9 a.m. will be guaranteed access to Monday’s meet-and-greet with Tyson.
The Tyson event will take place outside the store in a tented area, separate from normal retail operations. Time permitting, it will remain open to additional guests.
“We’re only guaranteeing those 100 people, but if he has time, he’ll meet others as well,” Jain said, noting the dispensary’s weekend-long event will also feature food, music, giveaways and games throughout the weekend.
Tyson 2.0, launched by the boxing icon in 2021, is a nationally distributed cannabis brand that includes flower, edibles, pre-rolls and gummies.
Known for its bold branding tied to Tyson’s persona and boxing legacy, the line has expanded rapidly in legalized markets and is positioned as a mainstream celebrity-driven product line in the cannabis space.
“It’s awareness, credibility, hype — all of it,” Jain said, adding that Tyson’s presence in Farmingville is notable given that most celebrity cannabis activations tend to occur in major metropolitan markets like New York City or Los Angeles.
“He doesn’t really come out to Long Island like this,” Jain said. “So for him to come here is a big deal for the area.”
The event also underscores Canna Booms’ early performance in New York’s regulated cannabis market. Jain said the dispensary is already ranking among the top-performing retailers statewide, citing publicly available industry data.
Tyson’s appearance will be his most visible Long Island stop in recent years.
